Wednesday brought rain but we moved forward and geared up in our rain suits to head to the coast. The suits are really uncomfortable and bulky to the point of not being able to bend your arms and legs but, they kept us dry and warm.
We went through the Applegate Valley and then followed the Smith River toward Crescent City and jumped on 101 north. We went through beautiful redwood forests.
We stopped for a hot bowl of clam chowder in Bookings and then made our way to Brandon.
At this point the rain had stopped and we took off the rain suits. The sky was mostly cloudy so we didn’t get a great sunset. We went into to the village for dinner and then walked around. Here are some pics of Brandon:
We return to Ashland today where it is supposed to be in the mid 80s. We’ll see Taming of the Shrew tonight! More tomorrow…

Love your itinerary and photos! I feel like I traveling along with you! Love, Lin
