We traveled fewer miles than other trips. 2,666 miles total which made the days a little shorter. We realized that we are less tolerant of high mile days. We’ll probably make adjustments to future journeys.
As we floated in our pool, we discussed our next trip. Where to? We’d like to coordinate a concert at Red Rocks, explore more of Alberta, BC and Colorado.
Our overall average was 36 miles per hour which includes rest stops, lunch stops, ferry rides, etc. A nice pace to cover the 2,600 miles.
We were every happy with our intercoms. It helped us stay on the the same page during the trip. We still used body language which we realized we do on a daily basis.
We have fine-tuned our organization. Tom has a spreadsheet that denotes each item and it’s location on the bike. We’re almost there.
We are discussing a different time of year in order to avoid the heat.
We’re due for some new gear. Cathy needs a new pair of summer gloves and our riding suits are wearing thin.
As we floated in the pool, we talked about our favorite part of the journey; Cathy’s was San Juan Island and Tom’s were the ferry rides. Both of us enjoy the time we are able to spend together. Cathy goes back to work tomorrow and the special time they spend together on the bike has ended for this year. This time brings us closer together and it’s sad to see the journey come to an end but We are already planning the next journey – stay tuned.
Here is a mash-up of this year’s trip:

These Chronicles are great as a record of your trips. We only have our pictures as a record. I look forward to your next adventure, whereever it may be.
