We are getting ready for our 2022 Monkeybutt journey. This was a trip we had planned to take in 2020 and of course, we all know what happened that year.
We will be making our way to Canada to experience Whistler and to revisit Banff and Jasper National Parks.
Earlier this year we made the decision to purchase a new ride and we went all in! We purchased a BMW R1250 GS. Since then, we’ve been embellishing it with all the best farkles …
(Farkle (n): A modification to a motorcycle that satisfies the following criteria: creates “bling,” serves a purpose (the usefulness of which is in the eyes of the farkler) and is most likely expensive. -Google)
…and making fine-tune adjustments on our beautiful Triple Black! We’re really happy with how it rides and handles, and with the state-of-the-art technology and safety features it has. We’re looking forward to our first long road trip.

It was hard to say goodbye to our Yamaha but it has landed a good home. Its new owners flew to California and rode the bike across the nation where they reside in Atlanta, Georgia! The Yamaha made the trip without incident!
The route will take us up the middle of Northern California and Oregon. In Washington, we’ll head to Sumas to enter Canada.
The Canadian government has a great COVID system for entering the country. We must use the ArriveCAN app and preload our passports and COVID vaccine information. Fingers crossed, it’s a smooth entry once we’re there.
On the ride home we’ll re-enter the US in Eastern Washington, venture into the panhandle of Idaho and then southwest through Oregon.
We’re looking forward to getting on the road again, this time with our new bike and eager for new experiences!

Nice ride!! I did that ride about a decade ago. It was truly magical!
