Glacier National Park: Our Two-Week Journey

It’s been almost a year since we took a trip; we’ve had a lot going on. Our youngest daughter’s wedding was in February – a busy time of logistics and family fun. In July, our middle daughter welcomed a beautiful baby girl into our family. And, we also fit a master bathroom remodel into the mix. The summer has been brutally hot so we haven’t even taken many day rides. Needless to say, we are more than ready to get on the road.

This year, we’re riding to Glacier National Park. We’ll be taking two full weeks to get to the park and return to Roseville. Our route takes us through Oregon where we will spend a day with our dear friends who live in Joseph. From there we head to Idaho and then into Montana. We’ll spend two nights in Glacier. We will be at St. Mary Village for their last open days of the season and before they begin a large renovation project. From there, we will work our way southwest through Idaho, Oregon and home to California. Although this is our planned route, we may have to reroute in Idaho and Oregon to avoid several active wildfires.

While we normally try to take roads less traveled, we’re trying some new roads this year. A recent Saturday was spent fitting the bike with new adventure tires. We hope to experience riding in a whole new way by taking some off-beaten tracks.

We’re ready for a change of pace from our daily routines. We are both looking forward to time on the bike together, seeing new sites and visiting old friends. We take off first thing in the morning!
