Our day started early (again) but within a half an hour, we were in Glacier National Park.
Our first stop was Lake McDonald, a beautiful glacier fed lake.
We then started our way up the Going To The Sun Road which opened just in time for our trip.
Going To The Sun Road follows McDonald Creek until it begins winding its way along the steep mountain sides and up toward Logan Pass. Along the way are spectacular views of the glacial valleys and waterfalls.
Here are some more spectacular pics from Glacier.
We visited Waterton Lakes National Park. A friend of Tom’s recommended a visit. It is a beautiful place that adjoins Glacier. There is an old hotel there called the Prince of Wales Hotel. Very elegant – we thought twice about having a cola there when we saw folks having high tea. Instead, we went out to the bluff and took these pics.
Then we hit the road to Fernie, BC which turned out to be a beautiful little ski resort town. We’ll post those pictures later because we left the camera at the hotel when we walked to dinner. It’s back to the states tomorrow! Stay tuned.
