We were both still very tired and doubted if we could make today’s 450+ miles so we decided to see how we felt after we reached Portland. We set off and jumped on I-5. We hit Portland during the commute and the decision was made.
We headed for the coast. We were feeling full of energy when we made that decision. Along the way we saw this interesting sight.
The ride over to the Oregon coast was beautiful; the road was lined with wildflowers. So beautiful.
We made it to the shore and hit more traffic delays but at least it was a change of scenery.
It took several hours to get 150 miles. At Coos Bay, we headed inland. At this point we had been on the road for eight hours and Cathy decided that you’ve been on the road too long if you are annoyed with yet another beautiful forest, another river.
Finally after over eleven hours, we made it to Ashland in 100 degree heat and more wind. We both felt completely beat up.
After a short rest, we regrouped and went to our favorite spot in the village called Liquid Assets and enjoyed a lovely Barbera with a lite meal. We topped that off with an ice cream cone and now back in our room, we’re going to catch up on sleep. Tomorrow we will see Much Ado About Nothing. That’s exactly what we are looking forward to… doing nothing!
